And so craftsmen, carpenters, masons and farmers came to Jasper to find a better life...and they have. Even today with so many features attracting new industry, Jasper maintains a quality of life that residents of other communities can only dream about.

Jasper boasts one of the most comprehensive parks and recreation combinations in the Midwest. The city program operates 17 parks, a 205-acre public lake, Olympic swimming pool & water slide, 2 public golf courses, Jasper Country Club and the championship Sultan's Run Golf Club. Within a few miles of Jasper one can visit Patoka Lake, Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, Ferdinand State forest, Holiday World & Splashin'Safari, or attend a Heartland Class A Professional Baseball game featuring the Dragons in Huntingburg's League Stadium.
